Summer : prose for thought

I do and don’t love summer
The heat is not my cup of tea
I much prefer the autumn
Cardigans with fingers tucked up in the sleeves

But summer brought me babies
Two girls and a boy
So every single summer
Three birthdays for us to enjoy

I love the summer holidays
Six weeks with eachother
Going out or staying in
Time to spend with one another

I love to eat an ice cream
On a blanket in the park
Or throw bedtime out the window
And have the kids up long after dark

Sleeping far to late
Getting up whenever we want
Time for nice long breakfasts
With orange juice and fresh croissants

I love an evening walk
With the dog down the lane
Enjoying the evening sun
Never even minding if it rains

Sleeping reading ice cream
Playing in the water or the sand
Although I prefer autumn
Summer can be grand

Prose for thought : catching tears

Im linking up with prose for thought again, I first posted this last year on my old blog

Catching tears

A single tear pooled in his deep brown eye
It trickled slowly down his face
My heart broke for him a little
I caught it with my finger
Wiped away every trace
I told him without words
His tears were free to fall
I’ll be here beside him
I’m here to catch them all

Nobody knows : prose for thought

She only cries at night
No one hears her pain
They never see the tears
like bitter winter rain

She writes her feelings
They tell her
Its written from her heart
they don’t see the pieces
Shattered , fallen apart

She protects her children
Keeps them safe
On the outside, brave
But shes just a girl inside
Lost alone afraid

As she faces the world
She puts on her smile
Keeps her head up high

But nobody knows
Its hiding a lie

One step forward
Two steps back
Hold your breath
and count to ten
Slowly going forward
It all goes wrong again
Tired
No relief
No peace of mind
Looking for answers
I can never find
Which way to turn
Where do I go
However hard I try
I never seem to know
Maybe tomorrow
I’ll get it right
It plays on my mind
Through out the night
We sleep
We wake up
we do it again
One step forward
Two steps back
Hold your breath
And count to ten

Prose for thought : falling

I’ve blogged this poem of mine before, but I quite like it so I’m linking it up for Prose for thought.

Falling
Too fast
Not knowing where
You will end up

Sometimes finding a ledge
To rest on
But not for long
Getting blown off the edge again

Falling
You try to pull the stop cord
But there isn’t one
No parachute

You fall
And fall
And trust that the wind
may pick you back up

Prose for Thought

Prose for thought , I see you there …

Im linking up for prose for thought again this week…I wrote this on my old blog when my anxiety was back with a vengeance, unfortunately is relevant to me now too…

I thought you were gone
But I see you there
Lulled me Into an almost peace
Now you’re back
Everywhere
You creep into my mind
And see the thoughts
I try so hard to contain
You take a hold
And blow them up
Until they’re all too big again.
You take my fears and worries
You distort them
Like it’s a game
I try my best to keep you out
But here you are again.
You may be back , but
You will not pull me under
Not this time.
I am stronger.
You’re not welcome any more.
In time I will be brave enough
To keep you from my door.
